Production of front cover
Masthead
I then used the fill tool to colour the inside of some of the letters.
After, I used the eraser tool to draw some lines over the masthead.
Removing background
In order for me to put the masthead behind my model I had to eraser some of the background.
Before I did anything I duplicated the layer to keep the original background.
I used the magnetic lasso tool to select the area around my model and then deleted the background.
Feature story
For my feature story title I wanted to use a font which was not available on Photoshop. So I found the font I wanted and print screened the page.
I then pasted the print screen into Photoshop. Using edit and paste.
Then using the box selection tool I selected the area around the title.
I then inverted the selection and deleted all of the print screen that wasn't the title.
Then using the magic wand selection tool I erased the rest of the white background that was left around the text.
I then duplicated the layer with the text and put it onto the cover.
I then adjusted the scale of the feature story to make it fill more of the cover.
Then using the fill tool I changed the colour of the text to white, to make it stand out more.
I then chose to rotate the title slightly to give it more character. I did this using transform and rotate.
Boxes
I inserted a rectangle shape to put behind the main feature story to make it stand out even more.
I used the transform rotate to put the box behind the main feature story.
I then adjusted the opacity of the box so that you could still see the main image behind it.
